Many of our first responders are working through this pandemic. They deserve to be covered!

This is unreal that you would even think that COVID is not a work related death. These men and women are out protecting us and they get the virus. They should receive full death benefits

We shouldn’t have to sign a petition for this. It should be a given. To subject them to treatment like this is unacceptable.

My husband is a CCPD officer and if he died from covid19 I would be in the same position as the Williams family. All first responders deserve to be protected by the state of Texas.

It was inevitable that we would have first responders die due to COVID-19, but did they hesitate, no. Why is there hesitation from Governor Abbot? There is no doubt that they should receive full honors and benefits, as any other line of duty death. This should have been signed immediately upon arriving on Governor Abbot's desk.

All frontline and first responders that have continued to protect and serve during these trying times deserve every benefit, not only them but their families as well. If you’re safe in your home and that is what’s recommended then anyone stepping out to do what they swore to should have the upmost support from all higher parties.
