Currently there is no existing insurance provider that writes insurance for ride-sharing drivers in California. This is a petition to demonstrate that driver's who love their jobs and are committed to providing a much needed service just want peace of mind in the form of insurance that is designed specifically for them. Our goal is to get signatures from at least 1,000 drivers that work currently for Uber and/or Lyft to present to an Independent Insurance Agent that has been working to create just such a policy as mentioned above. He needs our help! In order to convince an insurance company to write such a policy they need demonstrated interest which represents the need for the product, they need solid numbers to assess risk and cost and they need powerful people from companies. I firmly believe that if we can get enough drivers to sign this petition we can make this happen. Lyft and Uber have demonstrated that they are "working on it" but I think it's time the people that are really at risk should do something now to "make it happen!" I encourage you all to pass this link on in any social media you currently use that other driver's use. The next steps will be to address this to the state government and the heads of the relevant companies. It starts with us!
