The decision that Marketing Research will not be counted as a Gen Ed course came 2 days before the end of the semester and will affect all, including students who will be seniors in 2016. Those seniors have only 2 semesters left at AUBG and have counted on MR. This change for them means that they will need 1 or 2 overloads for the academic year. Not to mention those who want to take the new Integrated Marketing Communication minor, where MR is a required course. Which means more overloads in order to complete the Gen Ed requirement. The change does NOT affect only newcomers, but everyone, regardless of the academic catalog year. Students have planned their courses and do not have credits to deal with this change. MR should be counted as a Gen Ed at least for seniors who have 2 semesters left and were counting on this course.
