This petition is about the rules of Leicester City Council's rules for private hire firms. This year, my father needs a new car for taxi driving(he owns his own private hire business). His car is perfectly fine, it has passed it's M.O.T test and runs without any problems. However it is 11 years old and due to the council he is not allowed to use this car for his job. However it just so happens I am moving up to sixth form this year(I attend a private school) and due to dad unable to use his car means that I am not able to attend the school, and being able to attend this school means a lot as it means I am able to do my a levels and get good grade. However Leicester City Council arenow jeopardising my future due to this rule. I do not want change it's for myself, but for others.

Additionally the council do not allow private hire cabs to have the same rights and privileges as hackney cabs, such as using bus lanes. This therefore is discrimination and should not be tolerated. Please support me in my mission as it is time for change. Yes I respect that customers would ideally not liked to be picked up in an old car, but just because it's old does not mean that it does to work properly or is not clean. Maybe people should be more caring and accept that sometimes that not always will they be picked up in an old car, however they need to be less judgemental. Support in all forms is much appreciated .
