The Sharks Educational Institute supports this petition. Hammerhead sharks are endangered species and need to be excluded from international trade of any kind.

It is disgusting what is being done by those in power in Costa Rica and their callous disregard for the fate of the Hammerhead Shark. Please do not allow this plundering of one of the ocean's apex predators to continue.

We need champions for the survival of the ocean and reefs. Imagine a world without these wonderful creatures. It would be a horrible place to live without them. Once they're gone then they are gone forever.

Please do not allow the export of these shark fins! It only continues to encourage the consumption thereby increasing the killing and collection of fins.

My friends and I visit Costa Rica, because its like paradise in a mistreated world. Please be an example on how to responsibly manage natural resources. Please do not do not lift the ban on the export of the stockpile of shark fins.
