To shed some light on the university spending issue seen at many public colleges, Amanda Simon, Kevin Eccles, and I decided to draft a petition. We want to bring light to the fact that donations made to our university and money spent isn’t distributed evenly between athletics and academics. We want to show that the students of Michigan State University don’t think this is fair and that our school along with many others need to change their policies. We believe that if money was distributed more evenly between the two parties than more students and athletes would actually come to our school. In conclusion, we also believe that spreading the universities’ wealth fairly between the two parties will be good for everyone. We believe that by speaking to each student and gaining as many signatures as possible we will make a difference here at Michigan State University.
