Good Day,
The intent of this petition is to gain support for what I believe is the most fitting way to honour Corporal Nathan Cirillo, the young soldier who was killed on October 22,2014 while standing guard at the National War Memorial in Ottawa, Ontario. Without going into the political aspects of this tragic event, I simply wish to honour this young soldier who passed away protecting the Rights and Freedoms we Canadians enjoy every day.
I have written to the Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Stephen Harper, formally requesting that a statue of Cpl. Cirillo be erected at the National War Memorial, and allow this young man the privilege of protecting the Memorial forever, as he gave his life doing. With your support, I believe this can and should be done.
Thank you for your time.
