Icompletely agree with Mark and Stacey that individuals who are advertising their homes for transient, paying guests should need to comply to the conditions of a special use permit that the Cornwall Inn and other licensed businesses must follow. It certainly seems to constitute unfair competition to those official lodging establishments in Cornwall that are put at a significant disadvantage by the owners of private homes renting out space without bearing the same burdens and costs.

This is a major deal. Cornwall inn owners have busted their butts to provide this service and have been wonderful during special events. If people are getting away with not paying the extra taxes that is not right.

This is beyond wrong. How the Town of Cornwall Zoning Board could get away with this for one thing, but have they no shame or conscience? They also aren't thinking of the big picture, it's bad enough what they are doing to businesses like the Cornwall Inn, that do things the right way, they will open up a can of worms, and problems, accidents, people getting sick and hurt, with no worries, because they had no inspections or permits to hold them accountable. But the TOWN will be.

I sincerely believe all AirB&B and VRBO establishments should be compliant with the same tax rules and regulations as the rest of the Inns. It is legally and morally right to impose these fair trade rules on these "parachute" businesses.
