Reinstate the Cork–Berlin Flight

Crucial to have more flights from cork

Please reinstate important business flights from Cork to Europe.

This route is crucial for European connectivity

I regularly attend the DIN standards office in Berlin for development of biotechnology standards meetings as the Head of the Irish Delegation of ISOTC 276. As I am based in Cork, I usually transfer through Heathrow making one day meetings a two night affair, massively increasing travel costs. This is anti competitive as I depend on public funding for my travel and Ireland needs to have continued representation at these meetings to contribute effectively. Due to the doubling of my flight numbers to attend these meeting, I sometimes can not afford the time required to attend these meetings and must make do with Webex dial-in. Many of the meetings subtleties are missed this way, hampering networking and support for Irish expert opinion. A direct flight option from Cork would massively ease my options for these meetings' attendance and reduce my public fund travel expenditure.

It's clear to all that despite building an attractive new terminal, Cork Airport has been deliberately downgraded in terms of it's connectivity to continental Europe compared to Dublin. Cork has strong ties with the continent, economic, cultural and social, and the current retrograde policy of the Government in deliberately disadvantaging Cork Airport runs completely counter to balanced regional and hence national development. It's a situation that all local business, cultural, educational and political representatives should be joining forces to actively and resolutely combat

I would love this flight to be reinstated.

this is yet another example of a short-sighted move which endangers Cork's connection to the international sphere. Other routes should also be reinstated (e.g. Cork-Rome).

If we want Cork to flourish as a modern city, we need decent transport links to other destinations.

Cork airport is Ireland's doorway to Europe, please reinstate the Cork-Berlin flight.

Travelling with two children regularly to Berlin. Flying from Cork wud make it so much easier!

We have family members living in Berlin with young children and its a pain in the arse having to drive to Dublin/Shannon to get on a plane to Berlin to see them... It is the same for them to come home to Cork and a direct Cork-Berlin flight would be ideal, more priority should be made to regional airports in Ireland besides turning the already busy Dublin airport into a mega airport which it does not have the infrastructure to support...

We would fly so often if we could fly direct to Cork . Now we are restricted to going home once a year max as the journey to cork is just too much on top of the travel. We really need this berlin-cork flight. Also the number of cork people living in Berlin has exploded in the last 5 years!
