I am requesting that the Fayette County School Board and Boundary Committee keep Copperfield Neighborhood in its current assigned school zones.Many families will be impacted by this proposed change that specifically moved into the Copperfield to ensure their children attended these schools.Many already have children attending these schools (Dunbar HS, Beaumont MS, Clays Mill Elem), and have built strong personal relationships with the teachers, workers and local communities. Families from Copperfield have donated thousands of volunteer hours and are emotional vested in these schools and programs.

The impact of forcing this proposed change on a subsection of families with children attending these schools would be devastating. We are united in opposing this proposed change and petition this Fayette County School Board to keep us in the current boundaries.

Why Copperfield should NOT be moved...

-It will create additional traffic problems on an already over capacity two lane Clays Mill Rd., which sees 17,700 cars each day. Urban County Govt has indicated more construction is coming soon which will cause additional backups.

-Kids will no longer be within walking or biking distance to High School.This causes an additional burden on parents that cannot pickup their children from after school activities.Children will drop out of post school related activities.

-Additional Bus Travel Time.

-Hardships for parents with multiple children will have further commutes.
