Many parents are concerned and upset about the new "standards-based" report cards (SBR) that are currently being rolled out by CISD. Parents believe it has a detrimental effect on our children's ability to learn. The standards-based report cards undermine the high education standards CISD has achieved in the past and the exemplary results that we have come to expect as parents and taxpayers in a school district with some of the highest property taxes in the state. Parents with children currently in 2nd and 3rd grade have not been happy with the new standards based report cards. They say report cards are difficult to understand and their children are not motivated to succeed. Under this system, students are perfectly content with "meeting expectations". This petition will be presented to the board of trustees for CISD. If you are against Standards Based Reporting in it's current state, please sign the petition.
