Petition for Change - Cooper Creek Tennis Center

Summary and Background: The purpose of this petition is to demonstrate support for a change in the operational management of Cooper Creek Tennis Center. The court conditions at Cooper Creek Tennis Center and court availability continue to be a priority for our tennis playing community. Cooper Creek Tennis Center is a vital part of tennis and a priority for the Columbus Regional Tennis Association's (CORTA) 3,100 members. CORTA is willing to become a steward of the facility on behalf of the City of Columbus. CORTA is very interested in reversing the deterioration of the present courts as we look toward a major expansion of courts in the future. Action Petitioned for: We, Columbus Regional Tennis Association (CORTA) members, area tennis enthusiasts and interested citizens, petition the city to contract with CORTA to manage Cooper Creek Tennis Center. The goals are to improve court conditions, increase court availability, improve customer service, and develop daily operating systems. Being a non-profit community tennis association, CORTA is the best choice to make such improvements. CORTA's single tennis focus in managing the facility would benefit the citizens of Columbus.
