This historic building was funded by the philanthropy of Carnegie. What right do the council have to sell this building?

It would be a crying shame to see this lovely & much needed library shunted out of it’s rightful place

Destroying our library service is a direct attack on the poorest and most disenfranchised people in the country. Please invest in this library and in the people who need it

Libraries make health communies
A volunteer/ community group library has a shelf life of around 18 months .
Libraries are an essential service , a safe place for many.
Libraries are uplifting for the mind & for the soul.

I am a children’s author who has done a lot of work in N Wales encouraging kids to read and use the library. Losing or downsizing this library would be a tragedy.

No more downgrading libraries. It creates a poverty of imagination and aspiration.

The library belongs to the community and is an essential resource for everyone living there. The Carnegie building is of historic significance and will have been gifted to the Council in trust, so there is an obligation to maintain it. The Council can support the community to take the building on, and the group can access community resources available to help them do this. Simple for the Council to decide to close it - but it needs to work with community wishes, as it is the community that pay the costs of the council. Please look at an alternative solution to closing this magnificent building to the community

This library was built using public money. It needs to be kept as a public building, for use by the whole community.

Libraries are needed now more than ever. It would be a betrayal of the people of Conwy to move ‘a small part of the existing library’ from a beautiful Carnegie building to a characterless council building. Please re-think your priorities and, next time, get them right.
