For several years, I have wanted a parrot as a pet in my family. However, I do not just want a bird because they are cute.

My mom has been trying to become a vegetarian for a while, and I think the exposure to animals (specifically birds) would help motivate her (and me) to avoid meat.

Also, one thing I would possibly like to study when I am older is animal behavior, and having a pet such as a parrot (one of the smartest animals) would help me get used to animals, and learn more about them.
