For years they have been out of control here in Parkwyn dr area!! They have eaten and ruined all my flowers and every hosta, in the least 10 years. We would love to have something done about this.

Anything to control (preferably eliminate) the deer population. The health risk to both humans and the deer themselves demands action.

This is way past overdue.

I live on Winchell Ave and the deer population in our neighborhood is out of control.

I’m ONLY IN SUPPORT of this petition if we can find a humane way to do this. I’m against killing them but would highly favor neutering the males. This would help considerably as one male can impregnate upwards of 25 does in one month.

I’d be happy to responsibly hunt them in town.

The deer population in neighborhoods has gotten out of control. I’ve always enjoyed the deer, but I’m concerned about the number, particularly with the increase in serious mosquitos-born illnesses that we are seeing in the deer population.

We need to desperately control the population.

My idea is to have the DNR thin out the herd and have the meat processed for the local homeless shelters and vets. It seems like a win win solution to the problem.

I am a real animal lover but have come to the conclusion that the deer population is very much out of control. It is not safe for humans or animals. For all the reasons stated by others on this site, I reluctantly sign the petition.

The city deer are unafraid of people and are brazen enough to come eat the plants off my front porch and my back deck. Their multiple messy droppings foul my yard. I have a small city lot but a gang of 8 deer regularly ravages my plantings, having done hundreds of dollars worth of damage to landscape. They have killed small trees , shrubs, rose bushes, and even eaten houseplants placed out in summer down to their pots! I have sprayed deer repellant, hung mylar streamers, installed wind spinners, and tried in multiple ways to discourage the deer and protect my yard, to no avail. There are no natural predators or hunters in the city to bring into balance the overabundance of deer.

This is a major problem and needs considerable attention to resolve the matter. It is easily identified as a health hazard for both the deer population and residence in our neighborhood.

Something needs to be done. There are far to many large animals for the area. So many are being hit. I’d love to have a solution.

Deer population in North Portage/South Bronson neighborhoods is worse than ever. Should be dealt with by both municipalities for all the reasons stated in comments.

I agree. The municipal authorities need to cull Kalamazoo's urban deer population.

I'm in support of a controlled culling of the herd by at least 3/4. This has been like watching a slow moving train wreck and gets exponentially worse every year.
