Joan Ray is a talented, insightful, wise, and capable leader. More than that, she is truly an INSPIRATIONAL leader who elevates those around her. Trusted by parents, colleagues, and students, she inspires confidence. With her ESOL teaching background, she has practical insights about resources available and the needs of ESOL students that will enrich any school under her leadership to be sure, but which are particularly apt for the exciting and ambitious merging of Montclair and Fernbank for the next couple years. And, very recently, Joan Ray has demonstrated strength and able guidance in the most challenging and poignant of times. She has the ability, intelligence, strength, and gorgeous heart that make her the ideal candidate to take the helm at Fernbank.

Joan Ray knows Fernbank Elementary and has had several roles at the school which have prepared her to take on the job as Principal. Her relationship with the staff, teachers, students, parents, county and the community make her a natural successor to Jason Marshall.

I am in support of appointing Joan Ray as successor to Jason Marshall as the Fernbank Elementary Prinicipal . She has strong leadership and given she has worked in multiple roles during her tenure at the school is best equipped to carry Fernbank's foundational leadership and school excellence forward.

Make a good decision - place Joan Ray in the principal role at Fernbank. She is THE best candidate for the job. Hiring from within, especially given the changes, is the best move.

I have watched and listened to Joan Ray handle numerous situations with students and parents. She obviously respects each child even regardless of the bad decision the children have made. I believe she makes the kids want to do better so they don't make those same bad decisions again. Joan Ray would be exceptional in this role.

Given all the changes that Fernbank will be undergoing next year, there is not better administrator than Joan Ray to lead the school and community during the transition.

No other candidate understands Fernbank's unique community and culture better than Joan Ray. Having her as principal will ensure that next year's transition does not affect the integrity of our school and what Mr Marshall has worked so hard to build.

Please hire Joan Ray to be the new principal for Fernbank. With the significant changes coming to our school next year, having someone with personal experience at the school is critical to managing the process successfully.
