Garden waste collections should not be halted until at least the majority of autumn leaves have fallen and residents have had the chance to collect and dispose them.

My garden is going to be an irreparable mess by the time you start collecting again, the front will be an eye sore abs bush’s growing over the pavement a hazard to pedestrians. This isn’t even touching on the pest hazards, piles of lawn cuttings potentially housing rats. I pay one of the highest band council tax rates and I really think Rhi is not one of the provisions that should be sacrificed

Leaf fall generally occurs in November. If not collected. result is blocked drains and risk of flooding. This decision has the hallmark of the same person who allowed potching not patching of the holes in our roads and pavements.

We are spending more time in our gardens because of lockdown. Vital that we have a monthly collection to take away garden waste.

This will have unintended consequences : fly tipping, undergrowth not cleared and providing cover for vermin near properties, dangerous bonfires detrimental to public health.

Not easy to use the council centres when you are shielding or have physical health problems! We will only receive 6 months of collection service for our year fee!

How are we going to dispose of leaves now?

Even 2/3 collections over the winter would be helpful

If Cardiff has any sort of realistic commitment to the environmental and wants to encourage its citizens towards a greener outlook, then garden waste collection is a fundamental. It should be fortnightly until December.

It makes no sense to cancel a once monthly green waste collection through the winter, it will make visits to the refuse centres even more difficult & what about elderly residents who can’t get there? Also it is extremely unlikely that it will create very much by way of additional resources for those staff being deployed to do general street cleaning!

When you reduced collections in the spring/summer over all the garden trimmings didn’t just magically disappear. You’re proposing no collections for a quarter of the year, During the heaviest leaf fall time. I’d like a refund of my (top rate) council tax commensurate with this reduced service, if it goes ahead. Everyone wants to do less and get paid the same it seems.

We require monthly collections during the winter months. As minimum we require one in November to help clear autumn waste. It is one of the busiest times in the garden. Most trees have not even shed their leaves yet.

Ridiculous when we will have the fall of leaves creating huge amounts of garden waste soon.
