I think that its important to continue to provide excellent opportunities for young men to play a sport they love while they strive for academic goals. To take this program out of the state would show the people that the only programs that matter is the larger universities. There's more to this state than Auburn and the University of Alabama. You have an outstanding program that you would be throwing away but the students are the ones that will suffer from your decisions.

A former Birmingham resident and UAB student, I have kept an eye on UAB and it's developments over the years. The establishment of the football program has enhanced the university's statute and reputation where I live now, in the northeast. It would be a sad commentary to lose this program, and the pride it brings to the school and it's academic family.
