Any decision to drop the football program at UAB is a decision made without logic and the necessary foresight required to lead a university.

As a student in the 1980's UAB was always looked down upon for its lack of a football program. Do not make a huge mistake by dropping this source of school pride from UAB. Without football the athletic department will become little more than a glorified intramural program.

Was the 3rd person on the field for the very first practice in 1989. Was Defensive Captain for the first NCAA win in1991. It took commitment and belief for theTeam to go that far in 3 years - there are great days ahead!

When we raise the tide for the bottom, it raises it for everyone. I don't understand what the UA trustees are so afraid of, since a successful UAB football team is better for all programs in the state (see the UA-AU rivalry)

Alabama has screwed UAB Football over already. Dont allow them to do it again. Jimbo Fisher was going to be the head coach at Uab and Alabama wouldnt allow it. Now he has a national championship with another team.
