Marshall was once faced with the discontinuation of our football program and it would have been a sad day for our university , community, and state if it had materialized. The UAB Blazers played The Herd until the "last whistle blew" and played a great game! To discontinue the program would be a disservice to all who have put their hearts into your school, and especially the players and students! Stay Strong Blazers and Play On!!

will be a sad day for UAB if our football program dissolves. No more tailgating, marching band halftime shows, majorettes or dance line/cheerleaders on the sidelines to cheer on the Blazers. Not everyone can say a dragon roars and breathes fire when their team takes the field but Blazer fans can.

College football in Birmingham is not some passing fad. It's a real thing, a real pastime. UAB deserves its own team with its own existence surviving on its own terms. Everything naysayers have said about the venture have been proven wrong--Blazer football is not a joke, it's not a failure. It's a damn good time and a damn good thing that this city and community get behind. Step back and watch this program grow.

All 4 of my children attended UAB from 2004-2012....two on academic scholarships, two on band scholarships. All 4 are now successful men and women, secure in their fields. Marching band was the reason 2 of my sons got scholarships. Marching band happens at football games! It's very much needed. It affects much more than just athletics. It was a great college experience.

I'm a die hard Marshall fan, and this UAB team almost gave me a heart attack today! UAB football needs to continue. This program is on the rise, and it would be a disgrace to end it. Keep UAB football alive!
