as part of the million dollar band, losing a football program means more than losing just a team. You are leaving behind everything that deals with football like the marching band and the fans who stand by the team. Let the program go on, for everyone who works hard to make football games what they are.

There will never be a day that I won't be proud to be a Blazer, or that I won't bleed green and gold. UAB is a huge part of who I am, and it's about time for UAB to show to the world what we're made of.

Football at UAB gave me an opportunity for further my education and I am thankful for that. Being from Birmingham and watching the program grow from being DIII to DI is mind blowing. I remember when the program was so bad that you could get 4 people for the price of one with a free popcorn and drink.....and the homeless wouldn't even show up. As kids when would go to the games and have relay race in the stadium to pass the time with an attendance of 50 people. I had aspirations of changing the program then. I played football at UAB from 2002-2006 and help led the Blazers to the programs 1st ever bowl game in Hawaii. Talk about the program going being in hell to playing in paradise. One of my highlights of being a player came my senior year. I was picked to go to Children's hospital during homecoming week. The kids looked at me as if I was Batman. Just to give a parallel to hope of the city's team. The team gives that spark to the citizens of Birmingham. In the mist of all this our team fought to be bowl eligible, they didn't give up and neither should the board. GO BLAZERS!!!! #38
