The fact that UAB board members are seeking to shut down a program based on finances is ridiculous, especially given the fact that they are apart of the University of Alabama family. We might be different campuses, but each campus contributes something that the others cannot do and it's not right to take something away from the student body just because a group of members don't feel like it is benefiting the school anymore. What about the students? What about the ones who are only able to attend the school because of the athletic department? To defer these students and all future students of the opportunity is a low blow.

I am not a Blazer, but my close friends are going to be directly affected by the decision to end UAB's football program. I am a member of the Jaguar Marching Band at USA and I know how I would feel if the situation was reversed.

Birmingham is my hometown and I love going to games at UAB. The fact that they want to take something away from the school that unites students, faculty, alumnae, and the community INFURIATES me!!!!
