As a consumer, I depend on the standards set by the organic certifying agencies to protect me and my family from synthetic components in food. The inclusion of hydroponic methods allows inclusion of questionable elements that I would rather not eat, and that dilute good organic standards. How can I know the difference? At the very least, hydroponic/aquaponic products should be identified as such. Why are hess products banned in so many countries? Please, NOB, give us good solid standards for organic food.

As an organic foods consumer, I expect that food to be grown in the manner the NOSB standards declared in 2010. Organic farming is more than the end product -- it's the entire production cycle, from start to finish, and synthetic fertilizers have no place in that cycle. The health of the soil is what gives the food the nutrients that give us optimal health, and that's what organic agriculture is supposed to be all about!

It is essential that we keep the soil as organic as possible the least of which any food coming from the soil should come from soil that is organic in order to be certified as such otherwise the certification is useless. WE CANNOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN.

hydoro and aqua ponics do not have the soil organisms to create high Brix nutritional foods, so is NOT Organic.
