Clearly this is going to effect the surrounding areas so its insulting that they have not been included by default. Poor show Hackney, please put this right.

I agree with all that has been said. I have noticed an increase in traffic down our small street (Sach Road) as well as tension between drivers as they compete for a parking space in the area. I am also concerned about the increase in pollution that these restrictions may entail in the small area not included in the restrictions.

My car has been damaged twice in the past year, due to the congestion in Mount Pleasant Lane, car clubs are dumping cars on the street, commuters and other people leave them there for the day as well. With the new parking permits, all the current people will be parking in this already congested area, let alone the new people moving to the area with all the multiple flats being built.

I fully support that we all need to be consulted on the proposed parking restrictions outlined as we will all be affected. I echo much of what has already been said that Mount Pleasant Lane is already extremely problematic on a daily basis with dumped cars, vans and it is a road which is also heavily congested due to commuters parking to access the station etc etc. If the current plans go ahead to exclude certain roads from being part of the controlled restrictions, this will only make matter worse for residents of Mount Pleasant Lane and contribute to the chaos which already exists.

Muston Road, Sach Road and Mount Pleasant Lane have already seen an increase in parking since parking controls were introduced to the west of Upper Clapton Road. Introduction of the Zone U parking controls will certainly increase the problem further, making the roads in our area increasing dangerous.

Can not agree more - we need to be consulted on parking controls in Upper Clapton. The current suggestion - leaving out Knightland Rd, Muston Rd, Sach Rd and Mt Pleasant Lane - will lead to even more chaos / abandoned vehicles / rat running etc. along these roads than we already experience today. What is required, though, beyond parking control, is a sensible and integrated traffic management for the whole area!

This area seems to be the last area in Hackney (and zone 2 as a whole) that isn't affected by parking restrictions. This means it has become a dumping ground for people outside the area wishing to park their cars or VANS for free. This imbalance brings congestion and attracts theft and damage.

It’s important we have a say on how parking is conducted in our streets.

I would like to request a petition so that the residents of these streets have a say in how the parking is to be conducted.

The whole area to the north of Mount Pleasant Lane / Hill also needs parking controls and traffic reduction.

We need a general consultation on traffic matters relating to the whole of Mt Pleasant Lane.

There is mayhem already on a daily basis on Mt Pleasant Lane at the intersection with Sach Rd, with enormous trucks doing deliveries to numerous building sites that don't have traffic plans, parents dropping off their kids by car, delivery vans parking on corners and so forth. Add to this commuters who have to park further away from the station, as the immediate neighbourhood will now be parking controlled... It'll be a nightmare! Instead Mt Pleasant Lane should become a traffic controlled zone, either as a quite cycle route to avoid Upper Clapton Road, or as a one way, cutting off rat runs. Can we please see some forward thinking from the local council.

I am a member of Mount Pleasant Lane Residents Association. I fully support the demand that we be consulted on this issue, which effects us all. This scheme will squeeze additional vehicles into streets already drowning in parked cars, heavy commercial trucks, delivery vans, multi-wheeled transporters, school-run buses and abandoned vehicles, blocking emergency services and causing arguments and even fights on our streets. Either extend the scheme north of Mount Pleasant Hill or don't do it at all. Better still, create a sensible traffic management scheme for this very busy but neglected area.

Piece-meal controls will only shift the problem to other parts of Upper Clapton - there needs to be an integrated plan for the whole area.

We are already experiencing parking issues, overcrowding, illegal parking at crossing points and abandoned vehicles on mount pleasant lane. Parking restrictions proposed for zone U will make the situation worse.

The Upper Clapton roads are dangerous and a disaster waiting to happen. We need parking controls on Mount Pleasant Lane urgently. The abandoned cars on this road need to be taken seriously.
