Spaces should be organised according to sex not identity.

A feeling, an identity should not be prioritised in law over biological sex when it cones to the needs and rights of women and girls. This madness needs to stop - the majority do not support it.

As a father of an FTM I have struggled with this issue. I don't agree that "Women and girls are subject to discrimination and oppression", at least not in mainstream UK society. The vast majority of us have rejected sexism. The baseline attitude of almost all the public is a tolerant "live and let live". However, I can see this changing to hostility because of militant bulldozing activism, so I agree with the petition.

Men do not have the right to hijack or invade womanhood. Being a woman is not a "feeling". No male or transgender has any right to toy with, sacrifice, or take away any woman's right to single sex spaces in any form that takes. For a male to simply "state" he is a woman and is granted access to all of women's spaces, is nothing short of abuse

A transgender is a transsexual dressed up like a woman. XY XX the rest is mental illness.

Women need single sex facilities for safety, privacy and dignity. Feminism is not bigotry. Transwomen are male and should be welcomed into male spaces. We need to urgently stop putting the feelings and wishes of men over the safety of women and children.

I am forced to vote Conservative because all other parties are enthusiastically sacrificing the rights of those born female to people born male who wish for more opportunities and choices. They are prioritising male choice and emotional support over female need and essential services. Many women of minority faith, of disability, of trauma, and other protected characteristics will be excluded from all provision, including health care, if even one male is present regardless of how that male subjectively identifies themselves. There is nothing just, nothing basically morally right about this. There are ways to meet the needs of everyone without sacrificing female people for the benefit of male people.

NOTES * (Source, YouGov poll commissioned by Pink News) https://d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/cumulus_uploads/document/fyv38u1wln/PinkNews_Results_180621_w.pdf In the summer of 2017, the UK’s Conservative Government announced proposals to reform the Gender Recognition Act and declared there would be a public consultation. This finally started on 3 July 2018 and closed on 22 October 2018. Our government is responsible for legislation and regulation of questions of gender identity, so must consider the issue – particularly as pressure has grown in recent years for a change away from ‘medicalised’ identification, by which a change in legal gender must be approved by doctors, to self-identification. We also have serious safeguarding concerns about the rights of children through the loss of single sex spaces across the nation and the possibility of abuse as a result. As such, we urge our Party to accept that there are differences between the rights of women and people who identify as transgender, just as there will be distinctions between those of a fully medically transitioned transwoman and an individual identifying as transgender who does not wish to undertake any hormonal or bodily changes. It is imperative that these challenging distinctions and conflicts aren’t rushed into policy.
