PETITION TO MODIFY LOCATION OF HARRISON ROAD CONNECTOR TO SPOTSYLVANIA TOWN CENTRE WHEREAS, petitions requesting relief in the past have been judged non-inclusive of RESIDENTS along the PROPOSED route, and WHEREAS, the proposed abutting location (option #1) of the Harrison Road Connector and the Spotsylvania Towne Center will cause unacceptable noise and pollution for Waverly Village, Maple Grove and Governors Green subdivisions, therefore, We the undersigned now petition the Virginia Department of Transportation and the BOS to address the problems inherent in the option currently proposed for the Harrison Road Connector. Specifically, we petition VDOT and the BOS to strongly consider a location of this road closer to I-95 to : 1) Keep from removing a lot of vegetation (buffering) near our neighborhoods, and to reduce the adverse environmental impact upon natural waterways and recreation properties by rejecting the location of this road so close to the affected neighborhoods. 2) Allow the County and VDOT the option of connecting a southbound exit from I-95 to REALLY reduce traffic from RT. 3 and Exit 126. This would produce a low-cost C-D road which was highly recommended by a VDOT study in 2002. 3) Take advantage of this $FUNDED$ road so we won\'t have to wait 10 years for traffic relief on RT. 3 and avoid the reckless and shameful waste of this opportunity.
