NIMBY neighbors seeking to stop new businesses, residents, services, and so on moving into a neighborhood reminds me of the segregationists who didn't want black folks moving in near where they lived back in the '60s. Just a different brand of intolerance. Having a personal preference is one thing – using the government to bully people and interfere with their property rights is something else. We all have preferences – stores, buildings, businesses, neighbors, etc., that we like or don't like. But giving NIMBYs the power to veto other people's plans based on those preferences is a recipe for a lot of wasted time, money, and effort on both sides, not to mention a never-ending cycle of community discord and strife as people with different opinions about what they want located near them try to use the bullying power of government to force those preferences on others, instead of letting each property owner make his or her decisions in peace.

The majority of Californians have voted for all Californians to have access to medical and recreational cannabis. Please do not let special interest groups interfere with our democratically established right to access cannabis in a safe and public space.

This will be a wonderful addition to the Visitacion Valley neighborhood of SF. Visitacion Valley currently has no MCD's and the closest one is almost 2 miles away. Please approve this new dispensary.
