I totally agree with this my husband, my best friend, the absolute love of my life is facing possibly up to 10 years in prison, we were only married for 10 days before he was taken from me and my heart was ripped from my chest, and has now been locked up waiting for his trial for almost 6 months now. It has been the hardest thing I've ever been through and I was married before to an abusive alcoholic for 13 years who put me in the hospital many times and almost killed me several times. I know my current husband may not be perfect, he may have done somethings the law doesn't approve of but he's an amazing man, he not being charged with murder or even has a violent crime, I truly believe that husbands and wives have rights to each other and should be allowed to have conjugal visits in jail. If we can exercise our right as husband and wife to not testify against each other we should be allowed our right to spend private time together. If you can get a divorce on the grounds that your husband/wife doesn't give you enough or any sex then how can they keep you from having contact with your husband/wife. I honestly believe it would be incentive for inmates if they had it as a privilege or something that could be taken away. If your legally married and the inmate has been waiting to be sentenced or has been sentenced for 6 months or more I feel it's our rights as husband and wife to have contact visits as well as sex with our partners.

I feel you the love of my life is in prison it gets hard but with the live and dedication from the two of us we make it work

With so many positive changes going on in marylany with the justice reinvestment act and other such things conjucal visits would also be helpful for families and inmates if qualified
