Our federal legislatures work for the people that elected them and therefore should have no right in determining their own salaries.  Our congressional electives should be paid by the states that elected them and should fall under all the guidelines and other benefits afforded any other state worker.  They should have to pay into their own retirement, health care, and any other benefit that they now enjoy.  It makes no sense for someone that is supposed to be serving their constituents to get salary for life after serving for six years in a job that is only part time.  They only work 100 days a year.
