Who wouldn't, left to our devices, vote ourselves a bottomless raise? Especially with no accountability required-how did that happen. Can't blame these people but we are long overdue to put boundaries on elected officials.

We have in effect elected ourselves a ruling class, and that needs to end! We need to go back to a government, by the people, of the people and for the people. Our federal congressmen and women are not federal employees - they are supposed to work for their home state, and as such, I would love to see them paid by their home states, with the state legislatures determining the pay and benefits of the congressmen and women sent to represent us in Washington DC. It would put an end to a lot of the crap they get away with. I think each state should have its own embassy in/around DC where their congressmen and women live, so that those people do not need money to provide for two households - one in DC and one in their state, that way, they also are more incentivized to maintain their home residence in their own state, unlike people who "rent" a recliner in someone else's home to maintain residency. What a joke!

Please pass this Congressional Reform Act of 2018 if it hasn't been passed yet! It is a fair, sensible and equitable piece of legislation.
