CONFLICTED HIGHER STUDY IN ARCHITECTURE IN INDIA, FOR THE DIPLOMAS IN ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTANTSHIP. Dear Sir/ Madam, As per Indian Constitute I have my birthright to gate an equal opportunity of my higher education. But it is conflicted by Council Of Architecture, India (COA) to the diplomas in Architectural Assistantship and I am one of a victim of that. I have passed the Diploma in Architectural Assistantship, in June 2011, from West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE). All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) also affiliates this course. After passing the Diploma in such course, I found there is no farther opportunity to have a Bachelor degree in Architecture (i.e. B. Arch) and to be a Registered Architect (i.e. Member of Council of Architecture, India), in India. Neither AICTE nor WBSCTE provide this information to us during the time of admission in such course. Though, Indian Institute of Architects conduct a course for there Associate membership i.e. AIIA (by examination). The Associate Membership of the Indian Institute of Architects (AIIA) (by examination) is at per with Bachelors Degree in Architecture of recognized Indian Universities as notified by the Government of India (Notification No. 1-51/87/T-7/T-13/TD-V dated 5th August 1992). As per The Architects Act 1972, Associate members of the Indian Institute of Architects (AIIA) are eligible for Architect’s license in India. However, The Council of Architecture withdrawal its recognition of Membership of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) awarded by IIA on 01.09.2006 to the students enrolled from July 01, 2002. Thus it seemed untouchable to be an Architect for Diploma in Architectural Assistantship in India and I found this above incident conflicted my right of higher education. I informed earlier to THE HUMAN RIGHT COMMISION about this fact. But they denied it for its farther consideration (CASE NO: Case No.883/25/0/2012) without providing sufficient reason behind the decision. Thus I farther ask to the commission to provide proper reason to deny this case as it a civil matter not as a human right. My prayers are as follows, 1. “Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Government of India” and “Council of Architecture (COA), India” should facilitate an opportunity for B. Arch (must be eligible of Architect’s license in India) to the diploma holders in Architectural Assistantship in west Bengal also throughout in India. 2. Like other diplomas in India, diplomas in Architectural Assistantship should have facilitated for lateral entry or direct entry for their degree course in Architecture. 3. “Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Government of India” and “Council of Architecture (COA), India” be founded the B. Arch (P.T.D.C) course (which is only provided in School of Planning & Architecture, Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad for Diploma holders in Architectural Assistantship from Andhra Pradesh State Board of Technical Education and Training) in other states. 4. AICTE and WBSCTE should provide all the information, regarding higher study, to the students during the time of admission in such course. Hence I appeal to take necessary stapes for our justice as soon as possible. Attached file contain, 01. Complete complaint detail against Council of Architecture, India (COA) [.pdf] Yours sincerely, SOURAV GHOSH 119/1 Rajpukur Path, Athpur, DIST: 24PGS (N), PIN: 743128 Email- srg16b.ssg@gmail.com
