We demand that the Town Council of Mount Airy confirm the appointments of Stephen O’Malley and Ralph Ghent to the Planning Commission immediately.
Further, we are appalled at the inaction of this Council and the reasoning voiced for stalling this confirmation. By not confirming Mr. O’Malley and Mr. Ghent, you are risking error and missed opportunities for Intelligent Planning and Smart Growth in our town.
Mayor Hushour was elected, in part, for his experience in town affairs and methodical decision making. We expect you to confirm these qualified nominees immediately, as there are no logical reasons for stalling further.

If a candidate is eligible and a person of integrity, the council should not have the power to block that person from being selected to sit on the Planning Commission.
As a resident of Mt Airy I’m not considered a true resident living in Falling Green. These growth plans impact is greatly. We support having these voices added.
TC, your job is to *consent* unless there is some egregious offense with an appointee. It is not to take up personal offenses and retaliate.
It's past time to have representational commissioners, the past policy of stacking for agenda driven purposes are over.
405 windy knoll dr Mayor Hushour has a right to choose his appointments. Ralph Ghent and Steve O'Malley are more than qualified and should be appointed to the Planning Commission. Your personal reasons for preventing this overstep your positions as Town Council. Do your job and appoint these men to their positions within the town.

I have lived in Mt.Airy all my life. I feel like it’s been a clean cute town but we’re starting to see it slowly turning into Montgomery county . Let’s keep it clean and not as commercial. Sadly if you have enough money you can build any where and it needs a cap at some point. Now would be the time. Let’s keep it classy not turn it trashy.
