Wow! I cannot go into all the details, since it has became a legal matter. However, there's no confidentiality, and not to mention the horrible brief of confidentiality, discrimination and work place harassment!!!!!!

One expects a hotline to be confidential. Any exception must be absolutely clear to any user. This is astonishing and deeply disturbing. I believe the university community should get an explanation of this situation and the policy and procedures going forward. I have lost confidence in KSU's ability to handle ethics and workplace issues as a result of this.

Shameful.

I am very concerned about this betrayal of confidence on the hotline's part. If something is bad enough for a complaint from two staff members, it must be very serious. I worry for the emotional and physical safety of anyone who files a complaint, now that it is apparent that "confidential" does not mean confidential! The names of people who file a complaint should NOT be given out. Maybe, we should file complaints about how the complaint system causes a hostile environment.

The way the university has handled this entire situation is deeply embarrassing to me as a member of the organization. I strongly urge the administration to 1) make amends to those faculty impacted 2) fix the system and 3) address this specific issue of student psychological aggression against other students and faculty.

I am also concerned about the redaction process used/not used in connection with open records requests at KSU. A video uploaded to the web includes a passage in which a student states that he is not able to read aloud all of an email obtained through open records requests, because he has yet to read through the email and strike out private information. If he is being honest, then I would like to know what the policy is regarding redaction: Is it a responsibility of the requester or of the institution?

I've had this experience with the "confidential" ethics hotline. Not good, KSU, not good.
