I used to own a home in craigshill and I would not be able to afford to fix it if my house was affected. The houses should NEVER have been sold to the tenants with this not being known in the home owner reports! That's why they exist!

I lived in Deans South, Livingston, my home was found to have RAAC/Siporex in it, my home has now been demolished ! Thankfully I wasn't a homeowner I was a tenant and I was rehomed and given just over £2k compensation by West Lothian Council, those who had Council Tax debt had the debt taken from the compnsation payment! I was doing up my Deans South home, stripping paint, replacing skirtings, putting up wood panelling etc etc, I spent a LOT of money on my home to be given £2k compensation to pay for soft furnishings which I would need in the new house £2k !! My heart goes ou to ALL who are living in homes with RAAC, keep fighting everyone, don't let governments and local councils drag you down !!

It's most urgent that Brits are treated with justice and ethics. Both levels of government must take financial responsibility for the horrors they have created and act immediately to protect these innocents.

The Council has a moral and probably a legal responsibility to help homeowners and tenants, especially considering that RAAC was known to have a limited lifespan of around 20 years when it was introduced.
