Cost cutting years ago by ACC resulted in very poor substandard construction. They then punted the homes onto on unsuspecting home owners who were let down by surveyors that weren't doing there job by properly identifying RAAC's shortfalls. How is this fare that years later the poor home owners are left with negative equity and a dangerous homes to bring up your familys. ACC should buy-back every RAAC home demolish them all and re-build affordable housing for everyone affected.

I purchased my Council house from West Lothian Council in 2003 and now I have a letter saying that RAAC had been used in its construction in the 60's and the Council were aware of this in the 90's before they sold me the house and like the people in Torry, Aberdeen I have received a letter from West Lothian Council saying it is my responsibility. This is not on. They have sold me something that was not fit for purpose and they should be held accountable

I am the one affected by this situation, how on Earth Aberdeen City Council is allowed to build and then sell faulty property for a full price and then dare to say we do not care about people who bought these from us!

I am also an owner in one of the affected houses and am appalled at the complete lack of morals demonstrated by Aberdeen council considering their complete negligence in selling these houses to the public in the first place. I fully support this petition.

They have to take responsibility, thus won't go away.

My mum and dad bought their council house about 30 years ago. We still haven’t heard from the council if our house is affected

All home owners deserve that ACC foot the bill as homes were bought/sold with no knowledge of this money saving life threatening action done by Acc when homes were built

Just amazing that Aberdeen City Council can deny responsibility for homes they sold to innocent people, without informing them of the shoddy materials they used in roof construction. Working on the cheap inevitabley leads to problems and itvseems unfair and a dereliction of duty that they are now suggesting homeowners pay for the council's mistakes. Unwary purchasers who bought these prooerties from ex-council house lamdlords did not benefit from any council discount and deserve compensation.

The council should support home owners for surveys

Damn right Aberdeen Council should have vicarious liability. How they could bungle a roof design leaving thousands of residents believing their roofs will fall on their heads is diabolical.
