It's how you raise a dog and treat the dog. There is no such thing as a bad dog only bad owners

I know a lot of dogs who are banned because they LOOK mean but people are too scared to actually look past that.

It's all in the raising of ANY breed of dog whether they are mean or not. I've raised a lot of different breeds of dogs and not one was mean. That's because they are treated right and loved.

Pitbulls are very misunderstood. They need firm leadership and exercise - an experienced owner. Unfortunately, they are very loyal, even to criminals that own them.

Live the Pitbull breed

I had a rednose thatfece that recently passed away from kidney failure at the age of 13. Raised bim from a pup. I've owned at lot of dogs in my lifE but Chance was the best. We changed a lot of people's minds about pits in my town. Darn dog had groupies! More folks than me were sorry to see bim go. No bad dogs, just bad owners.

It's such a shame that such beautiful sweet dogs are being banned and not loved. Too much dogs in the pound when they need a loving home. There are so many dogs being killed because of the fact that there are too much in pounds/on streets. If someone wants to save a dog regardless of the breed why stop them?

Thomas Rider

I have owned several pitbull dogs in my time. They are a friendly breed and very loyal. They showed me love, attention and always obeyed my commands.

Consstance Schulte

I have known many sweet tempered pits. It's the temperment of the owner that determines the behavior of the dog.

Michael Seater

Breed bans are not fair to dogs or people and accomplish nothing. Don't take the easy way out, take the time to learn about the breeds you want to ban, you will be surprised.

I have had many dogs in my lifetime and almost of the greatest dogs I have ever had were pitbulls or pitbull crosses. These dogs are intelligent, loving, caring, and highly sensitive dogs, who wish only to please their human. A friend of mine adopted a dog from our local SPCA when she was only 7 weeks old. She is a black lab/pitbull mix, and is the most friendly dog I have ever come across, and this includes my own dogs haha. She is very sweet, and wants nothing more than to be constantly petted and given affection and love. She is very protective over my friends son, and has been ever since he was a baby. Whenever anyone new would come into my friends house when the baby was there she would instantly go over to the baby and not let him out of her sight. My friends son, while he was a baby, has done everything imaginable while playing with the dog and not once did she even nip at him. She took his rough housing in stride, and would simply wait for someone to tell my friends son to stop playing with her so rough. She was socialized well as a puppy, and is great with cats, and other dogs. She is honestly one of the best dogs I have ever come across. She looks more pit than lab, and this will often times cause people to shy away in fear. If they only knew how easy going she is they would feel foolish for doing so. To all those people that say that pitbulls are inherently violent, while citing completely flawed statistics, and reports, I have to say, shame on you for doing this. Dogs of ANY kind CAN attack without any notice, and to only point out the behavior of a few dogs from the breed is a very disingenuous way to try and win your argument.

I am signing this petition because I owned a Pit Bull named Fudge, and he was such a sweetheart that I had to give away because I was not strong enough to handle him. I am a fan of the breed, especially since I have been watching several episodes of Pit Bulls And Parolees.

There should be no such thing as a breed ban. The owners are responsible for how their dog acts. A puppy is not born vicious, but it can be taught to be. I hope the breed ban ends and people educate themselves about this precious breed.
