Concord wants a Rail Trail!

I have been cycling for over ten years and commute to work regularly. I run bright flashing lights during the day and make sure that I am seen. Yet I really don't see many protected bike lanes around here and people aren't very careful around cyclists. We live in a small city and these activities are seasonal for most people, which might make us unfamiliar to most drivers. I have had trash thrown at me on Main St. out the window of somebody's vehicle, and intetionally cut off or harassed just because. Concord needs more community friendly transportation, this will help bring better access and scenery to commuters without having to drive out of town, or cycle and walk across town risking our safety in traffic. Commuting by bike or foot should be a priority, it's our most natural form or transportation. We need as many bike lanes, side walks and trails that we can afford for people to enjoy.

This is a vital section of the Northern Rail Trail and a link in the Granite Rail Trail system. Both economic engines for the region. Please approve this purchase.

As a resident of Concord (Ward 4) who also regularly uses the Northern Rail-Trail, I strongly support the city purchasing this property. It would be amazing to have Concord connected to New Hampshire's longest rail-trail. It would also provide safer biking and walking opportunities for Concord residents away from traffic.

I strongly support purchasing the abandoned rail line for recreational purposes. Extending a rail trail to downtown will open up opportunities for so many more residents.

This goes through the Sewells Falls area and will be a great addition to the trails there.

I live in a West Concord neighborhood near this proposed trail and I know it would greatly improve the lives of everyone in West Concord and Penacook by giving walkers and bikers a safe way to get to downtown Concord.

I support the purchase of the old Northern Line Railroad corridor. Having this greenway will be a great resource for both the citizens of Concord and the many visitors this will bring to Concord. This trail will help to show people what a beautiful city Concord is.
