The development monster is alive in Concord Park with more surveying. It is strange that two years ago we pushed back on this development and now it has come back again with no other alternative than the first time. It seems very irrational except for someone's pocket book. No consideration of increased traffic that makes left turns out of the park very difficult (no traffic survey recently), no environmental study, no consideration of noise pollution that would greatly impact the town of Concord, no concern for the habitat and its animals (deer, fawns, white skunks, foxes, and dogs that get away from owners) and no way to handle the increased parking without more suspicious behavior. The local people who live 10 minutes away would have a monster in their backyard. All because the elites with money want their will done not the locals. This park is a valuable treasure or inheritance that TVA left to west Knoxville. One last thing is the expansion of the marina will cut off all game trails to the water.

Updates

September 20, 2023

I was just out by the water and saw more surveyors lurking around which is honestly exhausting considering we already told them no once. It feels like they are just waiting for us to stop looking but I am buried in emails to the county offices trying to figure out who signed off on those new boundary markers.

No more building off Northshore!!! The infrastructure in this corridor can not safely support anymore traffic into this area.

Leave the little bit of wilderness in the city alone. I regularly hike run the trails with my dog. And yes I have had my car broken into and my wallet stolen in the parking lit.

I'm speaking up for the animals losing their habitats and also for the people who don't want even more land paved over and built upon for so-called progress.

This is not wanted in our neighborhood… The people of old Concord do not want this. There is enough boat traffic as it is and noise pollution

Concord Park is a vital treasure to the community enjoyed by many. I am one of the many who hike the trails to enjoy the wildlife and serenity of the park. Further development of the park must be prohibited, and the natural environment of the park preserved. Expansion of more development within the park to benefit a few, would be gross negligence to the environment. County leaders must protect the park from future development. Failure of County leaders to protect this park from further development would be a failure of their civic responsibility!

Not in support of any development on northshore until infrastructure is addressed — roads, schools and flooding.
