Fighting to keep our KCS teachers!

If we could go back in time, say 4 years ago, and were asked to choose between certain schools renovations or classroom size a compromise might have been fair. However renovation vs. class size is a different story and teacher cuts are short sighted and no way to compensate for the increased budget rather a cop out. This is very upsetting.

Let's keep our focus on the children's needs by not reducing the # of KCS teachers.

Education is a fundamental building block for our society; if you cut costs on the foundation,well, in case you didn’t know, the structure you build upon will collapse. I was under the impression that RSU21 was a district that valued the quality of education.

Protect our children! Keep them learning, creating and devolping with our fantastic teachers and smaller class sizes. Make our teachers feel secure in their positions, they are the people that have our future in their hands. They are helping to guide amazing little people through a rigorous learning process to make their, and our, future brighter!

It is important to keep two classes as the diversity is vital.

It would be a real shame to cut any of the KCS teachers. The school performs perfectly the way it is. The student teacher ratio is in balance and the kids are thriving here. I 100% vote against cutting back any teachers.

Please keep two teachers/classes per grade. Our children our are future!!

Our 3 children have all attended and continue to attend KCS. The education of the students of KCS children is much more important than the bricks and mortar. Losing excellent teachers and small class sizes will negatively impact the children of our community. Why risk the education of children?

I am lucky to have 2 daughters that have experienced Consolidated. Kyleigh started in kindergarten and graduated from Kennebunk High School in 2010, Norah is in 4th grade. Both have had incredible experiences that I hope will continue for families and continued generations. Consolidated has harbored a culture of community and experiential education that is unsurpassed. I can only hope that the future growth of this school keeps these values intact. It's what makes KCS a pillar of our community and the positive educational foundation for our children.

Reducing the number of teachers will greatly impact these children during the most impactful years of their education.

There is no question that the classes should have two teachers. KCS should be no exception. No exception.

Not only are the ratios important, but the constant shifting of teachers between grades and schools is not benefiting anyone. Teachers need time in one class room and in one grade where they can learn the ins and outs of the curriculum to better their instruction and where they can create a learning environment that is most beneficial to the students. If they are constantly being shifted around, they have to acclimate to a new class room and new material each year which hurts our kids.

Let’s not reduce the number of teachers at consolidated school in Kport.

Having raised two children that went through the KCS system, I know that each benefited tremendously in the environment that was created due to the individual attention and focus that the student -teacher ratio allowed. I always felt that this allowed the teaching staff to really understand the unique needs of my children and help them realize their greatest potential. These are important formative years for their education and create life long habits for learning and studying that can't be achieved without a strong teacher-student ratio.

I feel very strongly about keeping our teachers at KCS and keeping our student-teacher ratios at numbers comparable to the rest of the rsu21 schools, and at levels that will provide the best learning and growing environment for our children.
