we shouldn’t go back to school i’m not going to risk getting sick. some people take this pandemic as a joke. i’m a athlete and having everyone in school could jeopardize me my teammates and the season. so what we have going on right should stay like this.

The school district should come up with a workable option for in person school which adheres to CDC guidelines of masking and social distancing.

Disregarding social distancing guidelines at this point is a huge mistake. Keep the current models in place until we have reached the point of herd immunity.

I planned to send my daughter into kindergarten in person next year. Having kept her home this year, I thought it best for emotional and learning needs to be in person. I am deeply concerned that there’s a consideration to not socially distance. I’m forced between hurting my daughter by keeping her remote another year or put my family at risk. I don’t think we should have to choose between that when it’s already a tough choice to begin with.

Plexi glass does not reduce airborne transmission and is a waste of money. Proper masking, social distancing and adequate ventilation should be the only considerations about safety. This whole thing is hard on everyone, especially our youngest students. The constantly changing schedule has made it harder for teachers and students.

We are hoping that the district looks at the well being of children, teachers and other school personnel in making this decision. We are facing new variants that spread faster, are more deadly, and may be resistant to the vaccines (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/fight-against-covid-19-variants-south-africa-lesson-world-n1258319).

This either/or survey was a discredit to the educated people who were required to fill it out. What response did they expect exactly? The fact that we have to sign a petition that highlights the CDC recommendations about health guidelines confirms the administrations pathetic attempt to keep our child and teachers health and safety as their priority. Not to mention, let’s just change our children’s routine to meet the desires of the few, but loudest people in our community.

I do not feel comfortable sending my son back to in-person school (either hybrid or full time) without being reassured that CDC social distancing, mask wearing, sanitizing, air ventilation, and hand washing guidelines are being met. Children can develop long term complications from COVID and it’s important that our teachers, staff, and the families of all are protected as well until we get to a stage where not just adults are being vaccinated but also the kids. Medical professionals at CHOP are recommending children be protected from this virus as well as adults. High priority for in-person schooling should be for kids that have special needs and learning English as a second language.
