We assure that the demands raised by the mentioned group are valid and worthy of consideration on the part of the Administration especially the ones pertaining to improving educational and service quality; and that the we support them within the peaceful framework provided by the Student Constitution and University Laws.

We demand that the mentioned group put and end to these actions immediately as they negatively affect the AUC Community by depriving students from an inherent right, hinder faculty and staff from doing their jobs, and deface the University's image at large.  

We demand that the Administration, which decided to suspend a number of the mentioned group pending investigation, to conduct a completely transparent investigation within the framework of the Student Constitution and University Laws. In this regard, we confirm the principle that "the accused is innocent until proven guilty" and that the necessary disciplinary actions should be taken against all transgressors and those found to be at fault.

We, also, demand the Administration to swiftly address the raised demands by considering their applicability, determining which of them can be met, and specifying a timeline for that in a framework of transparency and open dialogue between the Administration and the Student Body at large.

Finally, we stress our full support for peaceful expression, the importance of respecting all opinions, and the necessity of continuous and direct communication between the Administration on one hand and the students and the AUC Community at large on the other.

إنه في إطار الأحداث التي وقعت في الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة يوم الأحد الموافق 16 من سبتمبر الجاري المتمثلة في غلق أبواب الجامعة ومنع الطلاب من حضور محاضراتهم، يدين أعضاء مجتمع الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة المهتمين بشأنها بشدة هذه الأعمال ويرفضها تمامًا.

ونقر أن المطالب المرفوعة من قبل المجموعة المشار إليها مشروعة وجديرة بالدراسة من قبل الإدارة، وأننا نؤيدها وندعمها في الإطار السلمي الذي يكفله الدستور الطلابي وقانون الجامعة؛ ونحن إذ نؤكد دعمنا لحق جميع أعضاء مجتمع الجامعة في التعبير السلمي عن مطالبهم؛ كما نؤكد دعمنا لهذه المطالب خاصةً المتعلقة بتحسين جودة التعليم والخدمات منها.

ونطالب المجموعة التي قامت بهذه الأعمال وقفها في الحال بما تحمله من ضرر على مجتمع الجامعة متمثل في حرمان طالبي العلم من حق أصيل لهم ومن تعطيل أساتذة وموظفين عن القيام بعملهم وتشويه صورة الجامعة بشكلٍ عام. كما نطالب إدارة الجامعة والتي قررت وقف عدد من المجموعة المشار إليها عن الدراسة وإحالتهم للتحقيق بأن يكون التحقيق شفاف لا لبس فيه وفي إطار النظم التي يحددها الدستور الطلابي وقانون الجامعة مع احتفاظ الطلاب بحق الدفاع عن أنفسهم؛ وفي هذا الشأن، نؤكد على مبدأ أن "المتهم بريء حتى تثبت إداناته" وأن أي مخطئ أو متجاوز يستوجب إتخاذ ما يلزم من إجراءات تأديبية ضده.

كما نطالب إدارة الجامعة بسرعة البت في المطالب المرفوعة من قبل المجموعة المشار إليها ودراستها وتحديد ما يمكن تحقيقه منها والجدول الزمني الخاص بذلك على أن يكون هذا في إطار من الشفافية والحوار المفتوح بين الإدارة وسائر الطلاب.

وأخيرًا، نؤكد على دعمنا التام لحق التعبير السلمي عن الرأي وأهمية احترام الآراء كافة وكذلك ضرورة التواصل المباشر والدائم ما بين الإدارة من جانب والطلاب ومجتمع الجامعة ككل من جانب آخر.
