Please don't change the program for people who are disabled. This will hurt people with disabilities who rely on the program to get to work or have appointments or go shopping for groceries.

This is such a HUGE benefit for our family. Enabling people to be independent enhances quality of life by a thousand fold. Enabling people to get to work prevents poverty. Enabling people to get to doctors’ appointments and necessary health care saves lives.
Please fully fund Paratransit.

The paratransit system is critical for those with disabilities to lead productive lives. Going from 240 rides to 30 rides per month only allows 2-3 weeks of transportation not including weekends to an employer. Obtaining employment is challenging in this community and retaining employment is vital for the individual and community adding to their self esteem and to our economy. A compromise is suggested such that riders can access their jobs round trip at least through each month and allow for access to programs to enrich their lives and those around them.

The RAP program has been essential in expanding my daughter’s ability to work and participate in the area’s social/recreational offering.

No round trips? Do the directors of the RTA wish people with disabilities not to commute to and from a job? Please, RTA people: think this through.

My daughter would not have the independence she has if you cut or reduce her rides. I will not be able to work if she doesn’t have a safe ride home. She needs to access her community work and social recreation to live an inclusive life.
