Under current NSW legislation home owners and investors are not required to have building insurance; which acts to re-establish the dwelling in the event of fire etc. This petition proposes that building insurance be compulsory on all private dwellings whether owned by home-owners or investors- similar to having a compulsory green slip for a motor vehicle.
