This would immensely benefit the town businesses and also socially. Not having to load bikes onto the car to keep the children safe would mean everyone would use the tracks much more often. As a runner, especially in the winter, it would be so much safer than having to do road sections relying on head mounted lights and reflective jackets to warn drivers, usually moving too fast for the road conditions, to alert them to our presence.

I think this is a great idea - connecting Meeth and Hatherleigh with another section of the Tarka Trail would have benefits for so many local people and visitors. It would mean we could all enjoy safe, traffic free cycling, walking, running or horse riding and link up with the existing trail.

My children grew up in Hatherleigh but could never get to the tarka trail without a car to carry the bikes!
Let's get the trail linked to Hatherleigh so that many more children can benefit, not just those with parents able and willing to transport bikes by car
