After dedicating hours of revision and entire weekends to revising this subject I was NOT impressed to see words I had never seen before which were not defined in the GCSE textbook

The exam board placed questions on things which were not part of the spec in Sociology

Its not fair that we had to do an exam with a few things we were not even taught, which were not in our text books nor revision guides we would and must have lost a lot of marks due to this and its not fair on the teachers and students who put in all the effort with the revision, and when students asked for paper for their essays, they were refused??

A lot of hard work, revision and effort went into this exam. I feel the variety of questions; especially the anomie question did not reflect this. As a 2 mark question it would of raised little problems, but 4 marks can have a huge impact on the final grade and this term is missed in the specification and is very briefly mentioned in the revision guide; with a single sentence attached. Therefore I think lowering the grade boundaries is fair for all those who worked hard and were disappointed with this attack of high level questions.

When I walked in the exam i was so confident ti get an A but as siin as I opened that paper it knocked down to a C cause it was way too hard. Unit 1 i never git to complete an essay and 2 5 markers. Unit 2 i missed 4 4 markers and never got to complete an essay. I was crying soooo hard in the exam at the begining. This is not fair.

before the exam I was quite confident that I'd get an A* however after the exams I'm not too sure since there were terms that I could not understand and I'm sure were also not in the syllabus e.g. content analysis

I am strongly disappointed in today's awful sociology exam. I believe there were things we had never heard of that we're deliberately put into a paper at A level standards. I hope you take this into consideration and take further action. Many thanks

I would say I am a minimum b level student but aiming for an a or above and I don't believe I will get that due to the change of layout

I now feel that my chances in getting. An A or A* in this subject are 0. This was a catastrophe amongst many GCSE sociology students and an unequal oppertunity for all the students who did not anticipate A Level terminology coming up in the exam. Sociologists (Functionalists) argue that Education is Meritocratic, when they make exam questions unanswerable and do not follow the GCSE syllabus; a little bit hypocritical if you ask me.
