I believe the grade boundries should be lowered. Firstly because the questions involved A level terminology and secondly, people work so hard to achieve the top grades but it is so difficult. Lower the grade boundries !

My daughter and her school have worked very hard to prepare for the GCSE Sociology exams. Staff provided additional revision classes during holidays and over weekends. My daughter has worked incredibly hard, and was confident that she would achieve a good result. Sadly her hopes are dashed and both she and I are very angry. It is ludicrous that an examining body set a GCSE exam consisting of A level questions. Teachers checked the text books provided after yesterdays paper (14 May) a number of the key words are not included in either the main body of the text book, nor the glossary. You can rest assured that I will be pursuing this matter.

I feel like we were all at an unfair disadvantage and grade boundaries should be lowered!

It is completely unrealistic to think that a group of 16 year olds who are doing GCSEs would have revised A-level terms e.g. anomie. This is unfair and something needs to be done about this.

Questions were far to hard and specific for GCSE level.

The question about folk devils was very unfair as it required two levels of thinking. Firstly the meaning of the term and who exactly it referred to in the item as well as examples beyond the item. All this for 2 marks. Interpretation, analysis and application skills deserve more credit at least. Whether they belong at this level is another matter.
