This exam gave many missed opportunity to talk about sociology and instead asked questions that students of a GCSE ability were unable to answer. This exam was unfair and has wasted 2 years of knowledge; consequently many students including myself won't achieve their target grade or even pass. Lower grade boundaries should be set in order to compensate for the let down both teachers and students faced from this exam.

I felt disadvantaged in this exam due to the questions being asked were not the spec. How are we supposed to answer alevel questions when I am only a GCSE student???

This exam sees a step up from those of recent years with a shift in style questions and 4 mark explanation difficulties. I have had many students feeling distraught and even in tears due to this. There is a need to test students on difficult key words but there seems to have been a number of key words that had a higher level of understanding then in the past. Anomie and content analysis spring to mind.

I am going to fail my GCSES now, because this exam has been catered for A-levels. I am now going to suffer on the social mobility scale, as I am from a working-class background, and how am I meant to move up, if I am trapped with no educational success. Completely ridiculous. Now I am going to be stuck in the poverty trap... btw I got an A* in my mock, so fuck you all xx

It is very unfair that we worked hard for 2 years and nothing we worked for was on it but a level question, we need to be treated fairly

The four mark question asking what sociologist meant my the term anomie was unfair as it isn't specified on the GCSEs syllabus and is an a-level term. As this was one of the first questions I feel that this could have thrown people of through panicking and therefore have an impact on the rest of the exam.

How can you test the students on a subject they haven't studied ?? If this happened in a business environment you'd be laughed at ?

The questions asked we had not covered in lesson due to it not being on the spec and some questions were asking for A-level terminology
