When MEET alumni tell us about their experience in MEET, we feel like we’re not talking about the same program.
We as Y2s feel neglected in comparison with the previous years and the current Y1s; we didn’t go bowling, we went to Meta just once while the younger year went twice, our Y1 meetconfs were on zoom, we couldn’t make a campfire in the summer because of the fires, our Y1 summer was on zoom, and nevertheless our startup pitch was on zoom and then a week later Y1s pitched their yearlong project in Meta.
We know that last year and a bit of this year was challenging because of COVID and we thank you and appreciate the effort you put to make our experience the best it can be but we still didn’t get a huge part of the MEET experience
And we hereby kindly request compensation in any matter possible and available.

I have been reading through all your stories about missed trips and the weirdness of those zoom years and honestly it just confirms that we really did get the short end of the stick compared to everyone else. The silence from the people in charge is getting louder by the day but I am currently drafting a formal letter to finally lay out exactly what we are missing and why this matters so much to us.

Seeing this take off really caught me off guard because I honestly worried I was just venting into the void about those zoom years. It feels like we are finally being heard after all that frustration with the missed trips and endless screens. Now I have to figure out how to get someone in the office to actually listen to all of us.

Give us our experiences back we deserve it just as much as everyone else
its not fair that the Y1s got everything and we were just staring at a screen for two years straight
Yes yes I didn't even know there was supposed to be a campfire but I did think we will have some swimming stuff cause they asked us a long time ago if we know how to swim so
