Be It Enacted By The United States Congress


WHEREAS the current amateur status states that all collegiate athletes priority must remain on earning an education. WHEREAS a student athlete currently may not collect prize money, have a salary, or benefit from having an agent; WHEREAS the NCAA profits over one billion dollars, and college athletics net a 12 billion dollar income. WHEREAS the injustice has been noted that the exploitation of college athletes is unconstitutional by violation of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, as well as, morally and ethically inexcusable. WHEREAS the approval of Bill 625 would enact an entitlement for the opportunity for an alteration of the status of amateur for the compensation of all student athletes. WHEREAS no student athlete will have to suffer under the bylaws of the NCAA in order to promote self worth and achievement in association with a student athlete’s sport.
