Hello, I'd prefer to keep this conversion between the school and parents, but now that you brought this up, I think engagement between parents can be very helpful as well. Firstly, parents from different backgrounds have different needs and agendas, you and others may think e-learning is the right way to deal with this and I completely respect that. However you can see that there are 200 others who have different opinions in less than 24 hours, and they need to be heard since the school has repeatedly brushed them off. At no point in our message did we state that the school has done "nothing". We are simply asking to have a meeting with the school to make adjustments to the e-learning process to make it more suitable for children of different age groups. As far as your point of other schools "doing nothing", I'm not sure which school you were referring to. EIS has been very proactive and engaging with its parents and they have come up with satisfactory solutions regarding adjustments to e-learning, and prolonged school calendar, as well as extra open hours on certain days of the week. Maybe we could all learn from that. If you would give me your email address, I'll forward their newsletter to you. Again, at no point in our message have we stated that the teachers and management are not working hard during this ordeal, you have misinterpreted our message quite often for someone who has read it twice. We love and appreciate our teachers who we think are working around the clock to keep the kids' education going but like I have mentioned earlier, the process itself is not suitable to many of the children of different backgrounds. Again, that is why we're asking the school for a meeting to express our concerns, you are more than welcomed to be there once it's scheduled. Many of the international schools worldwide is owned in full or partially by hedge funds and it is one the most lucrative business that the capital love. They offer the best educational quality by having good teachers, facilities and good students as well. Now the issues is that fee paid but ruturn is not up to the expectation. Cut the crap and it is the reality. Legally the school is not binded. Maybe the school can do something to ease disgruntled parents. That's all.

I don't agree to the petition in full terms. However, as a parent of a student in the school, I would expect much proactive measures taken by school for the quality of educatuion during the hardship.

Dear fellow parents of students of BIS, I have read the text of this petition two time in row, since I did not believe my eyes at first time….and I am amazed and disgusted at the same time. These are very difficult times for all us involved – (1) for children at first place who are lacking contact with friends and school, (2) for parents who need to take care of children during the day time. But please let’s not forget about (3) school and teachers and let’s try to put yourselves for a few minutes into their shoes. I have full understanding for your concerns….and yes, we can also discus for hours the “discomfort” for children (& for parents???) due to sitting hours in front of computer. Teachers and leadership of the school could simply decide to do nothing and declare “extra vacation” just like other schools did – how would this decision change your days in reality? Can you imagine the decision BIS management needs to make? School must simply respect the local regulation, this is fact and same rules apply for all schools. Despite the situation, teachers are spending incredible positive efforts to keep the learning process as much as possible uninterrupted and in maximum possible quality of education process given the circumstances. BIS has built its reputation over the years due to exceptional demonstration of core values and for always pursuing the best for students and for the community. And strong communities demonstrate strong sense of empathy for situations that come along the time from all points of view, strong communities do not look on situation from once side only. I always care of Education quality. I did not expect online school for a long time. I know it is by Vietnam Gorverment. So as other local school, BIS must adjust school year. Not keep going online school using school year. I do not want to see everyday my children are using only computer. Teachers and parents, both are tired of online. Please adjust school year. We have to think about Qulityof Education.

School closure is not the school fault, we need to comply with the government decision. So the best practical is to adjust the school year accordingly to meet up with the school curriculum. Tam Le

Dear school, I’m mother of Andy Neo from 3V. I think there are a lot of homeworks that children could be able to finish without teaching supervisor.

Our daughter is happy enough with the on line lessons but us missing out on so much other school life.

At no point in our message did we mention that it was the school’s fault, neither did we ask for the school to stay open during this period. I respect your opinion that kids sitting on the computers for hours every day is beneficial for them, but some of us disagree as it is not how we’d like to raise our young children. Our wish is to work with the school to come up with a solution that everyone can be happy about. That’s simply what we are asking for at the moment in case you have misunderstood our message. This isn't the school's fault; they can't just disobey what the Government sanctions because that's illegal. Moreover, how can you ask the school to "make modifications to the e-learning process immediately so that children don't have to sit in front of a computer for hours every day" when the point of e-learning is to LEARN ONLINE; at this stage, it's honestly better than nothing. The school would very much love to reopen but unfortunately due to the Government's discretion, that's not going to happen; nothing will change that.
